So lately the boys have been really into Color Wonder! I had bought Color Wonder books for Andrew a year or two ago, and he basically ignored them. Suddenly they are the best thing since screen time! And Jonathan likes them too! I think there might be some new Color Wonder books in their stockings this year!

Flowers from September
Somehow I missed posting these pictures back in September when I took them. Jonathan was trying to help me "dead-head." Sadly, he doesn't understand which flowers should be picked. And there is nothing wrong with your eyes. Someone (Andrew) was playing with the settings on my camera and so Jonathan's shirt looks a little funny. I don't know what he did, but I think I have it back to a normal setting.
This was my second summer of growing impatiens by the front door, and they seem to love this spot. Just the right amount of shade. I even had some volunteer ones pop up in shades I had never planted. Sadly, my impatiens no longer look like this. They don't like the cold nights!

New Work Bench
I'm very behind in posting this, but back in September Keith started a little project to build his own workbench. He really needed a workbench. He had been using our old kitchen table as a pseudo storage/work table. When Keith told me his plan, I have to admit I was a bit skeptical that it could be completed in one weekend, but it was! Even with help from two short assistants! Great job Keith! And now the back corner of our garage is organized like never before!

Jonathan's First Haircut
Before:
"Stop taking my picture! Just let me watch Curious George!"
At the ripe old age of 21 months, Jonathan has received his first official haircut. (We trimmed his rat tail a couple months ago, but that doesn't really count.) He was such a big boy. He sat on his little rocket, ate his sucker and watched Curious George. He barely flinched when she sprayed his hair with water and only cried for a second when the clippers came out. So brave! Now he looks like such a big boy!

Leaves!
Andrew helped Keith rake some leaves on Saturday. Jonathan and I were recovering from the crud and stayed inside and missed out on all the fun!
The good news is that everyone is recovering! I took Jonathan to the doctor on Saturday and he is now on antibiotics for an ear infection (secondary infection) and is doing much better! We haven't had any fever in the house since Saturday! Woo Hoo! Now if we can just keep Keith healthy we'll be on the official road to recovery!

Crud, Crud GO Away...
Come again NO other day!
Here are the boys right after their nap. How do you know they are still sort-of sick? No one is fighting or screaming!
So we are on day 7 of this crud. Just when I think someone is getting better, someone else gets worse.
Andrew didn't have much of a fever on Tuesday and Wednesday, so I thought he was over the worst and then he spiked another high fever Thursday and his cough worsened (is that a word?), so off we went to the doctor and he is now being treated for an unknown secondary infection, possibly a sinus infection. I didn't really care what they diagnosed him with, as long as we got some antibiotics! And he needed them. He woke up fever free on Friday, YEAH! And had more energy and wanted to play with his toys - for the the first time all week!
Jonathan started the crud on Tuesday. Wednesday he was so whiny I thought I would lose my mind. He likes to share his pain and misery with everyone around him! But by Thursday he was better and playing and eating again. He then played a mean trick and was up most of Thursday night for reasons that only he knows and won't share. He didn't have a fever and didn't seem to be hurting and he acted fine all day Friday and was fever free! But this morning he woke up crying and had a fever again, so I whisked him off to the Immediate Care Clinic and now he is also on antibiotics for an ear infection.
Keith is still healthy, but I have caught something. I started with a scratchy throat on Thursday and I woke up this morning with a massive head cold. I'll take a cold over fever and body aches any day, but I was hoping to avoid all their germs! Wishful thinking! And I was really hoping we could all go to church tomorrow. It seems like forever since we have seen anyone or left our house. But I don't think two of us will be leaving these walls any time soon. Time will tell. Maybe a good night's sleep and lots of prayers will cure us!
