Jonathanism

Tonight on the way home from a less-than relaxing dining experience at Chili's, I asked the boys if they enjoyed eating at a restaurant. Clueless, they answered, "Yes!" So I responded with, "That's good, because it's going to be a long time until we do that again." Then I hear this little voice, "Well, it's a good thing we brought our boxes home." (Referring to our take-home boxes) Thanks Jonathan for putting me in my place. Sorta of made my feelings of irritation fly out the window as I tried not to laugh at the little stinker. But that doesn't change our feelings about dining out with children...

Family photos

Our friends, Vance and Danni Frick, took family photos for us on a beautiful October day.  Vance did a great job of capturing everyone's personality!

Fun Fall Days

The other day, the boys put Hannah in this basket and rolled her around the house. She was thrilled to be included in their play! They pretended she was their baby, and they would bring her to visit me. My role was the grandma. It was fun to watch their imagination play and that it included Hannah!

We have been enjoying some beautiful fall weather and Miss Hannah LOVES to be outside.

She's just hard to capture on film because she NEVER stops moving!

We call him "lounge lizard."

Hannah's First Birthday Party

The birthday girl at her birthday party

This is Hannah before cake...

And this is after...the girl likes her cake!

Yummy, gooey cream cheese frosting on a zucchini-pineapple cake. (What? Not every baby wants that kind of cake?! Maybe that's what her mama wanted to make after seeing the recipe on The Pioneer Woman's blog.)

Opening a present from Grandma and Grandpa. It was a cute Laugh-and-Learn purse with accessories. Somehow we missed catching a photo of her playing with it.

Adam wanted to see Hannah's new toys. Unfortunately he can't crawl yet, so he was limited to what she wanted to show him.

Opening her present from the Eigstis

Purple polka-dot sunglasses and some new clothes!

Grandma helping Hannah try on her new sunglasses.

Sunday night, Grandma and Grandpa and the Eigstis came down for a little birthday party. The birthday girl loves pizza so I made Stromboli for dinner. Hannah loved it and ate her fair share! After dinner and cake, we opened some presents and played with all the kiddos. Hannah loved being the center of attention, and I'm sure she is looking forward to her next birthday!

Birthday Presents - Part 2

Saturday morning after breakfast, we let Hannah open the rest of her presents. Andrew and Jonathan helped a little. She got a cell phone and 3 new baby dolls.

A new baby doll for a baby doll

Such a sweet, fun activity doll. It has zippers, buttons, snaps and Velcro, and it's soft and washable. And why do kids always go for the eyes?!

Calling her friends to tell them about her new baby.
