Oliver

Oliver is in holding therapy - the only time Andrew gets a chance to touch him. Andrew is actually very gentle, but not very quiet, so Oliver freaks out a little. Check out Oliver's ears if you think he is enjoying the therapy session.

Last weekend we had beautiful weather and spent a little time outside. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on your opinion, Oliver the cat escaped. He was missing for about 24 hours and I secretly hoped he was gone, but just like the song, "The Cat Came Back." Don't get me wrong. I love him most of the time and he's been with me since 1998, but he doesn't like Andrew and Andrew desperately wants to give him love. So, I would like to get a kitten who would not be so afraid of loud little people. But we can't get a kitten because Oliver doesn't like other animals either. So, while Andrew and Keith looked for Oliver, I made plans to return the unopened cat food we had just bought. I know. I'm a bad pet owner, but frankly, I have two children and don't have the energy to clean up after the cat when he has hairball issues. Summer is coming. Maybe I'll leave the sliding glass door open on "accident."

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Sondra, Jonathan and Grandpa

Grandpa meeting Jonathan for the first time.

Today my Grandpa Henry turned 89 years old. We visited him on Tuesday and he seemed to kind of know who we were, which is amazing. Grandpa suffers from Alzheimers and has good days and bad, but mostly it seems he has bad days. It's so sad to see how fast this disease is stealing him from us. He seems to always respond to Andrew, and Grandma says if we lived closer she'd have us come every other day to get him to talk. And this was the first time he met Jonathan Henry. I don't know if he understands that Jonathan is named after him, but we know and that's what matters. Grandpa showed some interest in Jonathan and reached out to touch him. Jonathan slept the whole time we were there and never new we left the house. Maybe next time he'll be awake.

family pics

Sondra is here visiting from Cleveland for a couple of days. I'm sure there will be more pictures of her and the boys later... We were all clean and shiny for church today, and so we were able to take some family photos.

Exploration Place

This was a giant bubble maker. You pull the rope in the middle and a giant bubble forms around you. Unfortunately, Andrew would pop the bubble before we could get a good picture of it. This was one of his favorite things at the museum.

What kid doesn't like to play in a water trough with floating sea creatures?

On Wednesday, we took Andrew and Jonathan to Exploration Place, a great children's science museum. They have a great area for toddlers, where we spent most of our time. Andrew exhibited some signs of ADD in this room. :) So much to see, so little time! We could've spent all day, but after a couple of hours of watching Andrew run and explore the museum, we were all tired!

Grammy and Grandpa visit!

Obviously, we all just got out of bed and needed a little snuggle time.

We are still having a hard time getting a good open-eye photo. We'll keep trying.

Grammy and Grandpa Ayotte were here last week to meet Jonathan and spoil Andrew. Both boys had a great time and I enjoyed sleeping in, afternoon naps, and an empty dishwasher! Thanks for coming to visit and for all your help!

a few new pics

Thanks for the pretty flowers Matt and Sarah!

I think Grandpa is reacting to Jonathan's diaper explosion.

In these pictures, Jonathan kind of looks like a monkey baby or a Monchhichi, for those of you who remember them. I can say that b/c I'm his mommy and I love him! He's much cuter in person. We are having a hard time capturing his cuteness on film.

Who needs hats when you have a box?

Here are some pictures from the past couple of weeks. I'm a little behind in my posting, but cut me some slack. I only get about 4-6 hours a night and not all in one stretch...

Brotherly Love on Valentine's Day

"Tickle. Tickle."

Yesterday Andrew surprised me by asking to hold Jonathan. The first holding session lasted a second and there was no time or extra hands for a camera. Then right before bed, probably a new stall tactic, he asked to hold him again. And this time it was captured on film! When Keith first laid Jonathan in Andrew's lap, Andrew said,"He wooks sceared." Keith said, "Don't we all." :)
