Random Summer Fun and Exhaustion

Sometimes when you think naps aren't important, you find that you are just too tired to get in your bed at bedtime. Exhausted children can sleep anywhere!
Watching TV can wear a girl out!
I found this tub on clearance and thought it would be great for toy storage in the garage. The boys had just been to the Pretty Prairie rodeo with Grandma and Grandpa and were inspired by the clowns. So before the tub could be used for its intended purpose, they re-enacted the clowns being chased by bulls.
 Hannah reading with Max.
Some serious Rescue Hero missions taking place on a quiet day at home. I love how these boys play together, most of the time!
More story time with Max. I'm pretty sure he was more worried about the birds in his backyard, but Hannah thought he wanted to hear "How do Dinosaurs Eat Their Food."

One Less Tooth...

Time to call the tooth fairy!
Jonathan lost his first tooth today, and I actually pulled it. I usually say that is a Daddy job, but he was desperate to get it out and it was barely hanging on. A small twist, and the tooth was out. My baby boy is growing up so fast!

More Birthday Fun

Auntie, Uncle Dave, Ben and Cate heard that we have some Skylander fans. Andrew was super excited to open this fun birthday box of Skylanders. Thank you!

Party with Friends!

This was some sort of chase/tag/Skylander game.

Andrew, Sydney, Brenna, Ellie, Will, Grace, Hannah and Jonathan - whew, we have a lot of kids!
No party is complete without an Angry Bird cupcake cake.

Star Wars Legos!
We had a joint Birthday/Welcome-back-to-Kansas-Peterson-family party. There were many children, who played together awesomely, allowing for adult conversation, which was previously unheard of. We have entered a new era, my friends! And we are so happy the Petersons live in Kansas again! May there be many more dinner parties with children running wild and happy!

Celebrating the Fourth

Fishing at Grandpa's pond
Andrew caught one!
While the big boys fished with the daddys and Grandpa, the little ones played with Grandma.

These two are T.R.O.U.B.L.E!
Grandma found bubble guns for the kids and Hannah was the happiest girl in town!

Look out, Grandpa! You are under attack from the littlest grand kids.
Then it was time for some fireworks.
Hannah wanted nothing to do with the firework fun and stayed on the porch the whole time yelling for us to come and play with her.

The sunset was A.mazing!

Hannah wanted to help me catch some shots of the sunset, so I took some of her running in the ditch. It was not easy to catch this girl on the move!
One of my favorites!

"Look! I'm not scared of Buster anymore!"
And yes, she is running barefoot on the dirt road. Feet.of.steel!

And then it was time for some 4-wheeler rides.
When we got home, the neighborhood fireworks were in full swing. So we busted out the headphones and sat outside and watched them. Even Hannah watched, as long as she was being held by a parent and had her headphones on, she was fine. Overall it was a very fun 4th of July!

Happy 8th Birthday, Andrew!

An early morning birthday present to make the day go a little faster. Both boys needed to test out all the buttons on the Rescue Heroes fire truck.
Andrew requested McDonald's for lunch. I think mainly because he has found a new favorite sweet treat, an Oreo McFlurry!
When did my baby boy become this giant 8 year old?!
Hannah enjoys an Oreo McFlurry too. She was supposed to share that with me, but  I think I only got a couple of bites before she ate the whole thing!
Skyping with Grammy and Grandpa while opening presents from them. Sometimes technology is awesome!
SKYLANDERS!

Strawberry Jello cake with Cool Whip frosting - Birthday boy approved!
Also approved by happy siblings

Finally birthday presents from Mom and Dad - Sonic race game, Sonic Erector set and a Sonic T-shirt. I think someone is a fan of Sonic!

Happy 8th Birthday, Andrew! We love you and can't believe how fast you are growing. It's OK if you slow down a smidge!
