Random October Photos

Clearly I'm beyond behind when it comes to posting. Here are some photos I found in my October folder that never got posted. So, I'm going to backdate and try to get caught up this month...

Hannah likes to think she is big like her brothers and tries to use their scooter. She is 2 now, you know, so big scooters are the logical next step for her!
My big helper, Jonathan, vacuuming!
Phone - check, mommy's sneakers - check
These kittens live a very rough life.
Craft time - marshmallow ghosts on construction paper. Thank you Pinterest for this fun idea. I think they glued almost as many marshmallows as they ate!
Jonathan's school picture - turned out so awesome. Sad that I only ordered one 8x10!
Jonathan had pumpkin patch day at school and brought home this adorable little pumpkin.

Family Pictures

On Hannah's birthday, we took family pictures. Thank you to Vance Frick for capturing us, even when certain little people didn't want to cooperate!

Happy Halloween

Getting ready for "Trunk or Treat" at church. The boys weren't too sure about it. There weren't any doorbells to ring and we weren't in our neighborhood. But they quickly learned that sometimes change is a good thing!

Hannah is the last little lion.

Jonathan at 20 months in 2009. And Ben and Cate wore this costume also. Sadly, I can't find a photo of them as little lions to post here.

Hannah checking out all of her loot.

The Whites, our awesome neighbors, gave the kids super treats and the kids all came home and dumped their bags to check out their loot.

Andrew scored a cool game-controller calculator!

Halloween was nice and warm - in the 60s, perfect weather for trick or treating. This year, since Halloween was on a Wednesday, our church had a Trunk-or-Treat event. We had never participated in this, but it was great. A bunch of familiar faces and friends giving candy to your kids in the church parking lot. Fast and efficient!

The boys have been looking forward to this night since October began and it didn't take Hannah long to figure out the trick-or-treating game. It went something like this: Walk up to strangers, smile shyly and they give me my CHOICE of candy!

Hannah's birthday party

Getting a little help opening her present. It was as big as her and she wasn't sure what it was...

and then it was assembled it and she was so happy!

We were finally able to have Hannah's party at the end of October. It was such a busy month for every one. Fortunately, when you are two, you don't know that you don't normally celebrate your birthday for a whole month! :)  Grandma made us a delicious dinner and then we had Funfetti cake for dessert. (I don't recommend the Funfetti box mix. I thought it was gross, but the kids loved it and that's all  that matters!) Hannah got a darling pram from Grandma and Grandpa, which she pushes all over the house. And she got some super cute magnetic paper dolls from the Eigstis. Such a lucky little 2 year old!

Jill visits and a Hoedown Reunion

Hannah and Auntie Jill reading books

Auntie Jill is the best bedtime story reader!

Our view down a desserted dirt road as we tried to find our way to the Lenkner Hoedown.

Stacey, Jill, Travis and me - together again. It's been way too long since our days at the Bertrand house!

2012 - We have aged gracefully!

Back in mid-October, Jill came for a fast weekend trip. The visit was much, much too short, but we squeezed in a lot of fun! Our little Travis is getting married and had a wedding reception in Coats, KS, so we roadtripped out there, without kids and had such a fun reunion! Jarrod and Stacey were there and we go to meet their two sweet girls. It was so fun to see old friends and meet Travis' fiancee.

2000 - we were so young and carefree!
