SNOW!

Sadly, this only lasted for about a minute.

Andrew LOVES to eat snow! He was even trying to lick his boots clean when we went inside. I explained to him that that was gross and that he should NEVER lick his boots!

Jonathan hanging out in the garage trying to see what we are doing in the crazy cold white stuff.

We received a couple of inches of snow today. I think the official total for Wichita was around 3 inches, but I shoveled the driveway, and I'm pretty sure we got 6-8 inches! I took the boys out to play in the snow while I shoveled. I didn't get quite half-way done before Andrew was begging to go inside. He had gotten a little carried away with his snow eating and had gotten snow on the inside of his coat and he didn't like it. Plus it was a chilly 18 degrees, and I didn't want to keep Jonathan out too long. He wasn't working up a sweat like Andrew and I were! The best part about the outside adventure - Jonathan took a 3-hour nap and Andrew took a 2-1/2 hour nap. Not bad for 15 minutes outside!

Dear Santa,

Could you please bring me some new toys? Pleeaasssee! Daddy's boot is fun, but don't you think they could find something more age-appropriate?

Christmas program

These pictures are a little old. Forgot we took them. oops! The 2- and 3-year-old Sunday School classes sang at the beginning of the musical Christmas extravaganza at church on Dec. 5. They only sang two songs, "Away in a Manger" and "Happy Birthday to Jesus."

We practiced at home. Andrew knew all the words and motions. I tried to prepare him that he would be standing in front of a lot of people to sing...

He didn't sing one word or do one motion. By the middle of the first song, his teacher, Mr. Klaassen was holding him. Andrew had some serious stage fright, but at least he stayed on the stage! Maybe next year he'll sing...

Christmas Tree time!

Andrew wanted to put ornaments very high so Jonathan couldn't reach them. I did not advise standing on the couch, but I did take a picture.

Jonathan wanted to help too!

We've been slowly putting up Christmas decorations. I haven't been able to get it all done in one day, or week, for that matter, so by the time I get it all put up, it's going to be time to take it all down again...

I had a little help decorating the tree the other day. Andrew hung almost all the ornaments and if you look closely, you'll notice he believes ornaments should be clustered. I restrained from fixing too much while he was awake, but after he went to bed, I did a little rearranging.

Sous Chefs

Sometimes making dinner is a LOT more work than other days. But when you have such cute assistants, who are sort of playing together, what are you to do?

Oliver

Notice the ears - Oliver is NOT enjoying Andrew's gentle touch!

Here are a couple of rare photos of Oliver and Andrew quality time. Sadly, Oliver is not a fan of children and so only during "holding" therapy does Andrew get to pet him. And Andrew and Jonathan LOVE Oliver, but the feeling isn't mutual and so Oliver spends most of the day hiding, presumably in fear of his life.
