Happy 8th Birthday, Andrew!

An early morning birthday present to make the day go a little faster. Both boys needed to test out all the buttons on the Rescue Heroes fire truck.

Andrew requested McDonald's for lunch. I think mainly because he has found a new favorite sweet treat, an Oreo McFlurry!

When did my baby boy become this giant 8 year old?!

Hannah enjoys an Oreo McFlurry too. She was supposed to share that with me, but  I think I only got a couple of bites before she ate the whole thing! 

Skyping with Grammy and Grandpa while opening presents from them. Sometimes technology is awesome!

Happy 8th Birthday, Andrew! We love you and can't believe how fast you are growing. It's OK if you slow down a smidge!

Wheat Harvest

 

Going with Uncle Matt and Grandpa to take the last load of wheat to the Whiteside Elevator.
 

Wheat harvest was late and short this year. We almost missed it completely. But we made it just in time for the boys to help take the last load of wheat to the grain elevator. They didn't seem to be too disappointed in not getting any combine rides. Riding in the big grain truck with Uncle Matt and Grandpa seemed to make them happy. Hannah wanted nothing to do with the giant truck and chose to stay at home with Grandma. Someday she might be in a wheat picture or two.

Machine-Pitch Baseball

Andrew played machine-pitch baseball for Maize rec this summer. He had lots of fun and learned lots of new skills, but by the end of June, he was a little tired of it. So, we may try a new sport next summer. We are proud of him for trying something new and playing his hardest!

While the summer has been unseasonable cool, Hannah did not need this jacket, but she insisted. Sometimes you just have to choose your battles.

All three kiddos attended VBS this year and loved it. The theme was Sonshine National Forest and the whole church was decorated like a forest. So cute! Hannah was able to go because I was helping with crafts and she was so excited to go every morning. It was so sweet to watch her learn all the songs and do them with her big brothers.

And nothing says summer like a Schwan's orange sherbet push-up! Just ask Hannah.

Andrew was in charge of throwing in the rings, while Sydney and Brenna were in charge of retrieving them.

All three kiddos took swimming lessons this summer at WSU with the WUShocks. The lessons were great and the kids learned so much. Unfortunately, since this summer has been so wet and cool, they've only been able to practice swimming once, and it happened to be with their best buds, Sydney and Brenna, at their community pool. At the beginning of the lessons, no one would put their face in the water. By the end of the two weeks, Andrew and Jonathan put their whole heads under water. Hannah wasn't quite as convinced, but she did master blowing bubbles in the water!
