Fun with Family - Day 1

Screen time addicts
I'm not sure what Cate just told me, but I don't think I believed her!

The boys worked all morning to build Ben's cool Legos.

Hannah wasn't quite sure what to think when she woke up that first morning to a house full of people very happy to see her.

Andrew had a T-Ball game that night and we all went to watch. Here he's playing pitcher.

I want to know what he was thinking! He looks a little bored or frustrated.
The game that night was at the practice field and so the seating wasn't ideal...

Keith was the third-base coach and Andrew's getting ready to score a run!

Grammy and Grandpa and the Fleurys came for a few days of fun. We jammed in as much fun and excitement as we could find in four-short days. Wednesday was sort of a relaxing, hang-out day that ended in us watching Andrew's T-ball game.

T-Ball Swim Party

Andrew can touch bottom and loves being in the water!

Jonathan loves the stairs area!

Medal presentation with Coach Shane

Andrew getting his medal. Coach Shane said that Andrew was super speedy.

On Saturday afternoon, we went to Andrew's T-Ball swimming party, even though it was 101 in the shade. The boys have discovered the joys of swimming, even if they still won't put their face in the water and they didn't care that it was blazing hot. Coach Shane handed out medals to the team and said their record was 8 wins, 3 losses and 1 forfeit. Not too bad considering the incredible heat these boys played in all June!

T-Ball!

Andrew at bat in the red helmet.

He made it on base with his first hit! Here he is on 3rd base.

Touching home base - run scored by Andrew!

Out in left field with his glove on his head. Not many balls get hit that far out.

At bat again, this time wearing a black helmet.

Running to 1st with Daddy coaching him on.

on 2nd base

Celebrating with his coach that he made it to 3rd.

Running home

Giving me a smile while playing short stop.

Game over - lining up to greet the other team.

Andrew had his first T-Ball game last week. He loves it, but it has been incredibly hot this month and we are struggling to enjoy the games in the heat! We signed up with the Maize Rec league only to find out after the fact that they play every MWF night for the month of June. To us that's a bit much for 5 year olds. We may not do it next year, but we are trying to hang in there for this month. Keith is helping as an assistant coach, and Jonathan, Hannah and I try to cheer from the sidelines. It's great comic relief! Most of these kids have never played and of course everyone wants to get the ball. The good news is that there is a 6-run rule for each inning, which is a good thing because they very rarely get 3 outs. Now if this 100 degree weather and wind would leave, we could enjoy the games a little more!
