More Harvest Pics

Sondra took some pictures of the boys in the field, so here are some more harvest pictures...

Andrew in the combine with grandpa. He looks likes he's doing some sort of crazy dance, but I think he's just trying to get the best view of the wheat being "eaten" by the combine.

Harvest

Jonathan giving Adam a little love.

Luke wanted to hold Hannah, but she's not really into that anymore so he agreed to sit next to her instead.

My view out the side mirror as we dumped wheat at the co-op.

If you look closely, you can see Jonathan pretending to talk on the CB radio.

Why are the best photos always blurry?!

Hannah slept through most of the experience. It was way past her nap time. But she woke up right before we left and took a little picture in the field to show she was helping with harvest too!

Harvest came early this year thanks to the incredible heat and wind we've been experiencing. We loaded up and went to "help" with harvest last Friday. To say the boys LOVE harvest is an understatement. And what's not to love - big trucks, tractors and combines, Uncle Matt and Grandpa. What more could a boy ask for?

Fun with Cousins

We were supposed to meet some friends at the zoo last week, but since 102 was the predicted high for the day, we opted to stay at home and have Sondra, Luke and Adam come to play. We filled the pool and the big boys had a great time sliding and splashing! Adam and Hannah watched from the shade, but mostly stayed in the a/c!

Summer Fun

Summer arrived a little early this year. We've been suffering through 100 degree days recently, which is not normal or welcome for June! So we busted out the new frog swimming pool. The boys LOVE it, even when the water is ice cold. Hannah wants to join them, but she's going to have to wait until next summer I think.

T-Ball!

Andrew at bat in the red helmet.

He made it on base with his first hit! Here he is on 3rd base.

Touching home base - run scored by Andrew!

Out in left field with his glove on his head. Not many balls get hit that far out.

At bat again, this time wearing a black helmet.

Running to 1st with Daddy coaching him on.

on 2nd base

Celebrating with his coach that he made it to 3rd.

Running home

Giving me a smile while playing short stop.

Game over - lining up to greet the other team.

Andrew had his first T-Ball game last week. He loves it, but it has been incredibly hot this month and we are struggling to enjoy the games in the heat! We signed up with the Maize Rec league only to find out after the fact that they play every MWF night for the month of June. To us that's a bit much for 5 year olds. We may not do it next year, but we are trying to hang in there for this month. Keith is helping as an assistant coach, and Jonathan, Hannah and I try to cheer from the sidelines. It's great comic relief! Most of these kids have never played and of course everyone wants to get the ball. The good news is that there is a 6-run rule for each inning, which is a good thing because they very rarely get 3 outs. Now if this 100 degree weather and wind would leave, we could enjoy the games a little more!

Memorial Day Fun

Andrew and Luke

Running boys

Jonathan and Luke

We went to Hutch Sunday evening to celebrate Memorial Day with family. The wind was fierce - think Hurricane force, but that didn't stop the kids from wanting to play outside! The boys were running races and had a little trouble running in a straight line because the wind kept pushing them. But they didn't care and kept running and running and running. (I'm also blaming wind for my blurry pictures. Not sure why this happened, so it must've been the wind!)

And then for a special treat, Andrew and Jonathan spent the night at Grandpa and Grandma's house. Notice I did not say that they slept at Grandpa and Grandma's house. Jonathan was up at 3 needing a drink, and then they were both up with the sun around 6:30. But they had a great time despite being exhausted. And their parents had a nice break and ran some errands with only Hannah and got lots done around the house! All in all, it was a great 3-day weekend!
