Peterson's Visit - Day 1

Painting - a fun activity for all four

Sydney was very intent on drawing her flying Unicorn named Rainbow.

Andrew working on getting the paint to come out of the brush.

Jonathan can't believe his mother gave him paint!

masterpieces!

Working together to fix the little snowman.

I think Sydney was pretending to be a cat or some kind of animal inspecting the snow.

Brenna Claire

Time to rest after a long day!

This past Tuesday, while Jill and Cory trekked across the U.S. in two cars with Boomer the dog, Sydney and Brenna stayed with Auntie Laura and then came to play with us while Laura went to work. I found out how to be a mother to four children, age 4 and under, and I survived! Much fun was had and fortunately it wasn't too cold, so we played in the snow for awhile and then watched some TV while having a snack! Poor Jill and Cory drove through a small blizzard in West Virginia but finally made it to Virginia!

Happy Birthday Keith!

Keith had a Boston Cream Pie for his birthday. It was delicious!

Kraft Boston Cream Pie
1 (3.4 oz) pkg instant Vanilla pudding
1 cup cold milk
1 - 1/2 cups cool whip
1 round yellow cake layer (8 or 9-inch)
1 (1 oz) square Baker's unsweetened chocolate
1 T. butter
3/4 cup powdered sugar
2 T. cold milk

Directions:
1. Beat pudding mix and 1 cup milk with whisk for 2 minutes. Stir in Cool Whip. Let stand 5 minutes. Meanwhile, cut cake horizontally into 2 layers with serrated knife.
2. Stack cake layers on serving plate, spreading pudding mixture between layers.
3. Microwave chocolate and butter on high 1 minute; stir until chocolate is melted. Add sugar and 2 Tbsp. milk; mix well. Spread over cake. Refrigerate 1 hour.

Winter Wonderland

This was the scene out our windows when we woke up this morning. So beautiful! I don't know how much snow fell, but I'm guessing 4-5 inches with a couple more predicted to fall today. So now we are enjoying a lazy snow day at home.

Fun in the snow

Jonathan was a little frustrated that he couldn't push his car in the snow!

"A little help, please!"

Andrew ducking for cover from Daddy's snowballs.

Just missed him!

Jonathan checking on the little snowman.

Look out! Here comes Andrew with a giant snowball!

Andrew loved sliding into a big pile of snow.

Ready...Set...

Slide!
Jonathan's snow pants made him fly down the slide.

Andrew found a new way to sneak and throw snowballs at Keith, who was sitting innocently on the swing below.

Now you see him...

Now you don't.

Jonathan blocking the paparazzi.

The sun came out on Saturday morning and before all the snow could melt, the boys played and played until they were wet and freezing.

Snow Day!

Jonathan just wanted to eat the snow.

He ate lots of snow and after each bite would say, "YUM!"

Both boys eating some snow.

Trying to get them both to look at me...

Jonathan trying to wade through the snow.

Andrew helping me shovel the driveway!

Jonathan thinking about helping.

Climbing up the snow "mountain"

The snow was very dry and stuck to the boys like glue. Their hands were frozen after a couple of minutes!

Friday school was cancelled thanks to several inches of snow. I never heard how much we received but I would guess around 6 inches. Andrew was not happy about the snow at first and wasn't excited about playing in it. But that only lasted a few minutes and then he changed his mind! Jonathan, on the other hand, did not want to go inside, even after his clothes were soaked and he was turning into a little popsicle!
