A day in the life...

" Look at this Lego tower I built all by myself!" After each tower was built, Andrew would throw up his arms and scream "I did it!"

For some reason, Andrew loves playing in the empty laundry basket. He was stomping his feet in it today and screaming out happy Andrew words for all the world to hear.

Andrew was in a fabulous mood today and hammed it up for the camera. It's amazing how a 2 1/2 hour nap makes you feel so much better. If only that happened everyday!

Playdate

Today Andrew had a little play date. My friend, Kara, had a doctor's appointment and so Kenna came over to play. She's 14 months and almost as tall as Andrew, and doesn't have many words either, so they get along great! Andrew tried pushing her a couple of times, but she gave him a look that will serve her well later in life, and he gave up on the pushing and just decided to play. They spent most of their time taking turns on the slide and playing with the kitchen set. There was a brief dance session in the kitchen to "Old MacDonald," but Kenna wasn't clear on why spinning is part of Andrew's dance routine. Andrew had a great time and kind of shared his toys, so maybe Kenna will come over again!

Comfy Chair

Andrew finally got a chair that is just the right size for him and he loves it. Yesterday, Oliver curled up in it during Andrew's nap. Apparently, it's the right size for him too!

Book Worm

Today I was fighting a sinus headache, so I sat down with a magazine. Andrew decided he wanted to take a break too and so he brought some books to the green chair and sat and read them for about 10 minutes. It was the cutest thing. He'd look over at me after every other page and give me a cute little smile like he knew he was being a big boy!

Poor Kitty!

Andrew went over to visit Uncle Matt and Aunt Sarah and discovered they have kittens. Apparently one of them had no fear and enjoyed torture...

Merry Christmas!

We just got back from spending a week in Kansas with all the Nislys for Christmas. After a cancelled flight due to fog, we decided to drive at the last minute and I mean last minute! Andrew did great in the car for 13 hours, thanks to new Christmas toys and a dvd player! We had great weather for the drive down and not so great for the drive home. We had rain most of the way and the closer we got to home, the weather turned to a wintery mix. We ended up getting about a foot of snow, but fortunately most of it fell after we were safe and sound! We all had a great time in KS, especially Andrew, who loved all of the attention and being spoiled! Here are a couple of pictures from Christmas eve when we opened our gifts. Andrew loved opening presents, even when they weren't for him! On Christmas Day, we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house and celebrated with the whole Nisly clan. Andrew loved playing with all his second cousins!

Nisly Family

While we were home for Christmas, we took a Nisly family photo. We haven't taken any since Andrew is part of the crew, so here we are. I strongly recommend Portrait Innovations. They were great and fast! And they knew how to get a busy little boy to smile and look at the camera. Of course it didn't hurt that he had his own personal cheer squad encouraging him to ham it up!
