Last night we had all the Nisly's (my family) over for dinner and a sort-of house warming. We figured after about 2 months we should host a little get together! The kids had a great time playing in the backyard with the sand/water table and the sprinkler. I think Andrew didn't understand the rules about which side the water belonged so he hung out in the sprinkler for awhile.

House Warming
A big boy bed?
Last week Andrew learned to climb out of his crib. It was a very sad time for me as naptime is just as precious to me as it is necessary for Andrew. Anyway, we converted his crib to a toddler bed to keep him from killing himself and after about a week, convinced him to stay in his room. (Many tears were involved from all parties and a childproof-doorknob cover.) This morning when I went to get him up for MOPS, this is where I found him sleeping. Last week I found him sleeping behind the rocking chair. Apparently, the floor is more comfortable?! But I'm not complaining. We are back to taking naps and staying in our room and that's all the matters right now!

washable markers
So, today I thought Andrew was playing nice and quietly by himself, but I should have known better. He had gotten into his washable markers and drawn a new mouth. I really wanted to laugh, but that is what I did the first time this happened and now it has happened again. So, I just took a quick picture and reminded him that markers are for paper only. All I can say is, Thank God for washable markers!

Grammy and Grandpa
Grammy and Grandpa came for a visit and Andrew had a GREAT time playing with them. He was constantly dragging one or the other into the playroom to play, which of course they did! He also got his new sand and water table that week. Unfortunately, he forgets which side the sand belongs. Thanks for coming to visit! We loved having you! Come back next time when it's not so hot!

Let's go swimming!
Since it's been so hot and none of us are used to it, we've had to find a way to cool down. Andrew LOVES to be outside and doesn't care if it's 100 degrees, but I do. So, we set up his swimming pool and for added fun, stuck his slide in it. I thought he might be afraid at first, but he's not! In fact, he gets a little irritated when we suggest playing on the slide without the swimming pool.
Uncle Mmmmatt!
During the month of July, Andrew had great fun getting to know his uncle Matt. And thanks to Matt, Andrew can now say the "m" sound, which I hear all day long in the form of "MOMMY!" Previously, I was referred to as "Boppy." Andrew thinks Matt is his personal jungle gym and whatever Matt does, Andrew must also do. In the last two pictures, Andrew is helping Matt decide on a new home in Indianapolis. Matt and Sarah did buy a home in Indianapolis and are moving this weekend. We're going to miss having you around! Now I'm going to hear "wherematt?" all day long!
