Let's go swimming!

Since it's been so hot and none of us are used to it, we've had to find a way to cool down. Andrew LOVES to be outside and doesn't care if it's 100 degrees, but I do. So, we set up his swimming pool and for added fun, stuck his slide in it. I thought he might be afraid at first, but he's not! In fact, he gets a little irritated when we suggest playing on the slide without the swimming pool.

Uncle Mmmmatt!

During the month of July, Andrew had great fun getting to know his uncle Matt. And thanks to Matt, Andrew can now say the "m" sound, which I hear all day long in the form of "MOMMY!" Previously, I was referred to as "Boppy." Andrew thinks Matt is his personal jungle gym and whatever Matt does, Andrew must also do. In the last two pictures, Andrew is helping Matt decide on a new home in Indianapolis. Matt and Sarah did buy a home in Indianapolis and are moving this weekend. We're going to miss having you around! Now I'm going to hear "wherematt?" all day long!

Yummy Ice Cream!

Jill and I took the kids out for lunch one day to Jason's Deli. I believe their favorite part of the lunch was the ice cream cones! Sydney was a little tired, but that didn't stop her from eating the ice cream!

The Zoo

Jill, Sydney and Brenna came to visit us for a week and we braved the heat and took the three kiddos to the zoo. The kids loved it as long as we didn't stop for too long at any of the exhibits. I think the penguin cove was the favorite. The penguins swam right at their eye level, and Andrew thought it was the coolest thing!

Happy 4th of July!

Dad and Matt attempting to light fireworks in the rain.

Andrew throwing the snap'ems.

Andrew and his Uncle Matt!

A little rain couldn't stop our personal fireworks show. Dad was careful to buy "Andrew friendly fireworks." And Andrew wasn't sure at first about the noise and the sparks, but by the end, he was really into it. Especially when he figured out how to use the little Snap'ems or Pop'ems. Whatever their called. Completely harmless, but they make a nice little "pop" when thrown on the ground. Andrew thought they were great!

Happy 2nd Birthday!

Look at my cool new bubble lawnmower!

If you look really close you can see the little frog Andrew is about to pick up.

It's so hard to believe, but our little boy turned 2! He had a great time on the farm with Grandpa, Grandma and Matt, and of course his parents. (We have fallen to the bottom of the list of favorite people.) Andrew had a great time looking for baby frogs. He wasn't sure about holding them, but he sure liked chasing them! Grandma made him a homemade chocolate cake, which we all enjoyed. Happy Birthday Andrew!

Good-bye Grand Forks

Well, after much delay, I'm going to try and update our blog. Bear with me. This could take awhile... At the end of June, we left Grand Forks and moved to Kansas. Here's a couple of pictures of trying to get the house organized for the movers. We got rid of our 300 pound TV, which gave Andrew access to all the buttons on the little TV and the DVD player, which he now operates all by himself. *sigh* And yes, I am wearing a sweatshirt on our last picture in front of our house. It was in the 70s the week we left and now we are sweating in the mid-90s in Kansas!
